Mount Pleasant hit Hartshead for six to move up

Mount Pleasant climbed up to second place in the Heavy Woollen League Championship after winning 6-1 against Hartshead in the only league game to take place last Sunday.

Old Bank WMC slipped to a 6-1 home defeat to Wakefield League Premier Division leaders Crofton Sports last Saturday.

Defeat leaves promoted Old Bank second-bottom with one win from their opening five league matches.

Thornhill moved joint top of Division Two thanks to a 3-1 win over Normanton Woodhouse Hill.

It was Thornhill’s third win in five league matches as they drew level on 10 points with leaders Drighlington and second placed New Wheel.

Overthorpe suffered a fifth defeat in Division Three as they went down 5-1 at Horbury Athletic.

Overthorpe are third-bottom with one from their opening six matches but are three ahead of bottom side Dewsbury Rangers Reserves, who have lost their opening five matches, their latest a 4-1 reversal at Ryhill.
