Nostalgia: The ball was in Steve’s court
An audience of millions saw Steve Lloyd of Mirfield fool a panel of star experts on the popular live TV programme What’s My Line.
He revealed his occupation was making footballs for the 1984 FA Cup Final.
The company which broadcast the show wanted someone connected with the cup final, so its team of researchers telephoned ball-makers Mitre, which was based Huddersfield, and Steve volunteered.
