Petanque players to compete at British Open
Firth Park, home of Heckmondwike Petanque Club, have been chosen to stage this years’ prestigious boules tournament, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday.
Over 150 teams from several European countries including petanque strongholds France and Belgium will descend upon the Spen Valley to battle it out to be crowned British Open champions.

Hide AdQualifying takes place on Saturday, from 1pm until the early evening, with the British Open finals being held from 10am to late afternoon on Sunday with players competing for the £1,000 winners cheques plus the Tog 24 la British Open trophy.
Performance clothing brand Tog 24, based in Heckmondwike’s Spen Vale Mills since 1958, are headline sponsor of this year’s Petanque British Open.
