Police delight at medal haul

Kirklees officers from West Yorkshire Police Submission Wrestling team returned from the National Championships in Birmingham last Saturday with eight medals.

The two gold, three silver and three bronze won at the Alexander Stadium doubled last year’s medal haul and it was a fine achievement from a team of 11 especially considering four competitors were in one weight division.

The sport involves forcing your opponent to submit using chokes, arm locks and leg locks.
