Premier League recruit new umpires

The Bradford Premier League Umpires Association are actively seeking people to become involved for the 2016 season.

After the expansion of the league, following the merger with the Central Yorkshire League, the Association are hoping to appoint two umpires to every fixture each week.

An ECB ACO Level One course has been arranged and will be held at Pudsey Congs CC, Intake Road, Pudsey LS28 9BZ on Saturdays January 23, 30 and February 6 with an exam on February 13.

The sessions are from noon until 5pm and course tutors will be David Ratcliffe and Bill Dove.

The course prepares candidates for a start in league cricket, with an in depth teaching of the laws, with many video clips to help with interpretation.

The cost of the course will be £30 per candidate, payable at the first session, which includes all course material and the cost of the exam.

The Association are also encouraging those who have been club umpires in the CYCL to become full members of the Bradford League Umpires Association and join the panel.

Anyone wishing to join the Association should contact secretary, David Ratcliffe on 01274 594932 or e-mail [email protected].
