Sharlston regained the lead when Gareth Davies capitalised on a knock-on to gather the loose ball and score.

Tom Wandless then scooted over from a quickly taken tap penalty and Green was sin-binned for protesting but it was while down to 12 men that Thornhill scored their first try as Danny Ratcliffe crossed to make it 12-8 at half-time.

McHugh scored a superb 80 metre try for Rovers and Dean Gamble then crossed, with Wandless converting, before Adam Bird replied with a late consolation for the Trojans.
