Road Runners’ relay mission

DEWSBURY Road Runners entered the Calderdale Way relay, a race cancelled last December.

Dewsbury’s team finished 50th of the 86 entries and their results were: Leg 1: Andrew Meskimmon and Mark Oldroyd 1:25:59 (27th).

Leg 2: Flora Skidmore and Maxine Worden 1:19:24 (51st) 35th overall.

Leg 3: Treena Johnson and Paul Croft 51:03 (44th) 33rd overall.

Leg 4: James Morris and David Binns 1:33:54 (54th) 41st overall.

Leg 5: Glenn Sykes and Matthew Baldwin 1:14:23 (55th) 45th overall.

Leg 6: Tim Harris and David Smith 1:37:28 (63rd) 50th overall.

Askern 10K: James Morris 33rd of the 495 finishers in 37 minutes 35seconds.

The Fellsman a 60-mile race and an 11,000 foot climb: Russell Thomas 70th of the 258 finishers in 26 hours 39 minutes.

In the Borrowdale Trail Race 20km Andrew Cottier third of the 95 finishers in 1:37:48.

Edinburgh Marathon:1097th Flora Skidmore 3 hours 27minutes 13 seconds; 1421st Maxine Worden 3:32:25; 3618th Gary Rhodes 3:57:42; 3953rd Tracey Rhodes 4:01:02; 4155th Liz Smith-Calvert 4:03:28; 7173rd Bev McClure 4:44:20, 9459 finishers.

Edinburgh Half Marathon: Mark Oldroyd 44th 1hr 21mins 47secs 1507th Heather Mitchell 1:51:44.

Orienteering: Michael Wood 46th of 93 on the Green course in 87 minutes and fifth over 70 at Holme Fell, Coniston.

n East Pennine Orienteering Club are holding a ‘Come and have a go at Orienteering’ event every Monday night at Greenhead Park (café), Trinity Street, Huddersfield, from 6-30pm to 8pm.
