Batley Bulldogs maul Swinton Lions

BATLEY Bulldogs ran in 11 tries as they romped to a 62-6 victory over Co-operative Championship rivals Swinton Lions.

Mark Applegarth’s ninth minute try, converted by Gareth Moore was cancelled out by Kevin Penny’s touchdown and Ian Mort’s goal five minutes later.

But it was one-way traffic from that point on and tries from Gareth Potts, Alex Walmsley, Matty Wildie and Moore, who added three conversions, steered the hosts into a 28-6 lead at the break.
