Rams strive to topple top six rivals London

Rams coach Glenn Morrison was proud at the way his side fought back to seal a thrilling win at Featherstone.

London currently occupy sixth place but are just three points above Glenn Morrison’s men and Dewsbury will be aiming to complete a notable victory over the Broncos.

The Rams produced a stunning fightback at Featherstone Rovers last Sunday to earn a 32-30 win having trailed 20-8 at half-time.

Victory dented Featherstone’s hopes of finishing in the top four and they sacked coach Andy Hay just 24 hours after defeat to the Rams.

Astonishingly, some Rams supporters had called for Morrison’s head at half-time last Sunday, before watching their side battle back in style.

Morrison said: “There were a few fans calling for my head in the first half. I told the players that if they didn’t want me there tomorrow – and a couple of fans were saying they didn’t – then continue on.

“But if they had my back then I knew they’d go out and do what I asked.

“We were confident we could get the win and the players showed me that they had my back.

“I’m very proud that they did and I thanked them afterwards.

“Some of them came off, looked me in the eye and said ‘we’ve got ya’, which is a good thing for a coach.

“Sometimes as a coach you seem to have more enemies than friends, but I was delighted to get the two points.”

Stephen Nash played his first game of the season at Featherstone, while centre Shane Grady returned after a spell on the sidelines with a broken thumb.

Fans favourite Makali Aizue could be in line to return from an elbow injury on Sunday as the Rams aim to turn up the heat on their top-six rivals.
