Rugby players offer fitness sessions to public

Batley Bulldogs star Danny Maun and Dewsbury Celtic’s Danny Thomas are staging a number of fitness sessions aimed at pushing participants to their limits.

Two sessions have already been held with increased numbers turning up to Dewsbury Moor ARLFC last Saturday.

The T3 Training sessions are being run under the 20:20 Foundation organisation, recently set up by Maun, Thomas and Starr Zaman and is aimed at bringing activities to the Dewsbury and Batley areas.

The T3 session run at Dewsbury Moor on Saturdays from 10am and exercises include tyre flipping, farmers walks, prowlers sledge, ropes, and kettle bells are open to male and females of all abilities.

If the T3 sessions continue to attracts newcomers Maun and Thomas are looking at introducing Wednesday evening sessions in Dewsbury Park.

Circuit training takes place at Ravensthorpe community centre every Tuesday at 6pm, while ‘Safe and Sound’ sessions are due to begin at the end of April at St Paulinus Parochial Hall, aimed at people who have issues with drugs and alcohol.

Physical Health and Emotional well-being sessions are also due to be held at Dewsbury Moor Sure Start Centre, helping local people understand the importance of health, while helping build your confidence.
