Sedge power to quarter-finals

Liversedge eased into the Jack Hampshire Cup quarter-finals last Sunday with an eight-wicket win over Adwalton.

Chris Curtis made 34, Ben Garner 30 and Reece Farnhill 26 not out as Adwalton reached 162-6.

David Bolt (96) and Stephen Lane (35) shared a first wicket stand of 105 while Matthew Gibson made 22 not out as Liversedge cruised to 167-2 in just 21.5 overs. Matthew Donohoe claimed 2-32.

Batley suffered a 75-run loss at New Farnley who posted 199-8.

Joe Suggitt top scored with 56 as Arman Hussain took 2-49. There was a wicket each for Huzaifah Patel, Ayaz Seedat, Tariq Hussain and Mohammed Tahir.

Tariq Hussain (37) and Kashif Talib (22) shared a 44-run stand for the fifth wicket but they lacked support as Batley were dismissed for 124 in 34.1 overs.

Hunslet Nelson beat Division One Oulton by six wickets.

Sohail Raz took 3-27, Will Stiff 2-26, Derrick Hammill 2-7, Daniel Calverley 1-8 and Matthew Smith 2-15 as the visitors were 86 all out. Premier Division Nelson needed just 13 overs to reach 88-4 with Stiff making 16 while extras were 38 including 34 wides.

Moorlands (159-7) triumphed by three wickets at Hopton Mills (158-7) while Wrenthorpe, Methley, Carlton and Townville also reached the last eight.
