Shaw Cross club chairman Chris Smith said: “Andrew was a popular choice for this inaugural award as he epitomises everything good about this club and rugby league.

“He started playing here as a young boy and has developed in to a great sportsman who sets a good example to all at the club by the way he conducts himself on and off the field.

“He has a positive attitude and his popularity with his teammates speaks volumes for his character. This award is in recognition of all those qualities.”
